Silent stones speak volumes. Over 7000 years ago, houses on stilts lined the shores of Lake Zurich. Later, the Celts inhabited the western flank of the Lindenhof mound. Here underground, we give the stones of the Castrum Romanum Turicum and the German Kings’ palaces a chance to speak. We then examine the remains of the city wall from the 13th century. We slip into a mediaeval sewage trench and gain a picture of the dubious hygiene that prevailed at that time. We encounter extensive sandstone structures and a 150 million year-old erratic boulder. Group size: 2-20. Tour prize: CHF 250.00
